Freight dispatch teams
A freight dispatch team can use the load as its operating case. The record names an organization, owner and transport partner, then carries the promised delivery and actual pickup and delivery times. Ordered stops show the planned service windows and what happened at each visit. Assignment records relate the load to a driver and vehicle over a defined interval.
How Port & Terminal Management is set up for you
Named ownership
The Dispatcher can work from assigned loads while the supervisor sees current load states across the permitted organization.
Stop sequence
Pickup and delivery addresses stay in order with window start and end times.
Resource commitment
Driver eligibility and vehicle readiness are considered alongside assignment intervals.
Exception history
A load in an exception state remains visible with its promise and eventual actual times.
Choose one operating organization and a familiar transport partner. Enter a load with terminal pickup and customer delivery stops, then check that their windows follow the planned order. Check a driver whose eligibility covers the interval and a vehicle with the appropriate equipment class and capacity. Check the assignment schedule for overlap before treating the resource as available.
Rehearse a delay at the terminal. The Dispatcher should be able to find the affected load, see its stop window and record the exception according to the team's operating rule. The Transport Supervisor can later compare promised and actual delivery and inspect the assignment that supported the movement.
Before importing a larger schedule, settle how staff obtain driver and fleet authority data. External identifiers on those records should map to the source systems the dispatch team already uses. A vehicle defect should keep its reported time, severity, repair evidence and release time so readiness changes are understandable.
