How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Power Plant Operations for your business. Start with a site, its generating units, meters and staff; then rehearse one shift of readings and response work.

What does the system record for generation?

Each generation interval records its unit, start and end, energy output, fuel quantity and fuel unit. The unit record carries its name, rated capacity, fuel type and operating state.

How are meter readings reviewed?

Readings keep their time, value, meter and quality flag. An Operations Reviewer examines a received energy interval and decides whether to validate or reject it.

Can I see an estimated reading?

Yes. The meter reading quality flag includes Estimated, so it stays visible in Meter Reading Exceptions for review.

What happens when an outage begins?

A Plant Operator records an operational event at the site with its actual start time. The Operations Manager acknowledges it and assigns maintenance work where needed.

How does a technician find assigned work?

Assigned Maintenance Tasks shows open work and its named assignee. Each task also has a site, due date and status.

Can I track fuel use by generating unit?

Generation intervals hold fuel quantity and fuel unit against the linked generating unit. Review the period and unit together when comparing results.

Where do site rates belong?

Tariffs record a rate per unit and its effective dates for a site. Review the dated period when using a rate in another business process.

How do I set up multiple sites?

Give every site its own name, location and timezone. Attach meters, events, tasks and rates to the correct site before comparing their records.
