How a Power Plant Operations rollout works

Bring a plant operating cycle into use with clear ownership.

  1. Identify the plants

Enter sites, timezones, operating status and the people responsible for each facility.

  2. Register equipment

Enter meters with their reading mode and units, then name generating units and their fuel types.

  3. Try a shift cycle

Record a generation period and meter observation, then have a reviewer decide on the received energy interval.

  4. Try a response

Raise an event, acknowledge it, assign site work and record recovery and task completion.

  5. Review reporting

Check that quantities retain their units and that time periods and site references stay clear in each report.

What the customer provides

Bring a current site list, meter identities, unit names, personnel accounts and examples of generation and meter observations. Agree who reviews energy intervals and who owns plant response. For rate periods, supply the effective dates, units and approved rate values. Identify the systems that supply meter readings or receive settlement results.

Changing it afterwards

Add a new site or unit with its own identity and references. Keep older generation periods, readings and events available for comparison. Review the effects of changing a meter mode or site timezone before using later observations. A new rate period should have an explicit start and end; keep the earlier dated rate for historical review.
