Regional Newspaper

A regional newspaper may coordinate several desks while sending an edition through distinct routes. Give the edition a project owner and due date, then enter each assignment with its own desk, reporter, story title and deadline. The Editor can review desk progress on Assignment Board while each Reporter follows their assigned work.

How Print Media / Newspaper is set up for you

Desk coordination

Use consistent desk names so assignments for local reporting, features and other editorial work can be compared on the same board.

Story ownership

Each content item has a named owner and project, making the editorial queue clear when several desks contribute to an edition.

Production work

Layout tasks name the project and assignee; their states show what remains before publication.

Circulation evidence

Routes store edition date, route name, dispatched copies and returned copies against linked content.

Choose an edition with more than one desk and route. Create a project, assign reporters, then carry one story through draft, editing and review. Attach a versioned file and the covering rights agreement. The Rights Reviewer approves the exact current revision; the Editor publishes after checking approval and rights again. This sequence gives the desk a clear handoff even if different people handle reporting and final release.

Next, assign layout tasks and enter route evidence for two distribution paths. The Circulation Manager should be able to show the date and copy values for each route. Keep route names stable across editions so the dispatch and returns report remains readable. Review the project budget with dated costs if the edition has separately tracked expenses.
