Release production

Check approved demand, positive quantity, available resource and feasible dates before release.

Step by step

  1. Prepare demand Production Planner

Production Planner identifies the customer order and item lines for the intended product. The release prerequisite is an order marked Approved. Agree who maintains that approval and inspect the customer and required date before preparing the operating scope.

    • Establish the approved demand reference
    • Updates Orders, Order lines, Parties
  2. Prepare the work order Production Planner

Production Planner selects the intended product, order and resource, then enters planned quantity and start and end dates. Explain the chosen inputs alongside the reviewed engineering evidence so the operating team can identify the instructions needed for the run.

    • Define the planned operating scope
    • Updates Work orders, Items, Resources
  3. Check release inputs Production Planner

Production Planner invokes the release action. It requires Draft work, approved demand, positive planned quantity, an Available resource and feasible dates. A refusal gives the planner a release problem to resolve before work proceeds.

    • Validate the stored prerequisites
    • Updates Work orders, Orders, Resources
  4. Release production Production Planner

The successful action freezes the release input and marks the work order Released. Production Planner checks the result against the intended scope. Batch preparation follows the production recording action later in the operating cycle.

    • Freeze inputs and set Released
    • Updates Work orders
  5. Prepare operating evidence Inventory Controller or Operator

Inventory Controller prepares eligible material issues and Operator prepares interval evidence against the released work. Each person retrieves the same work-order identity and confirms the next action. Resolve an unclear material or operating handoff before beginning the pilot run.

    • Prepare following operating actions
    • Updates Material issues, Production logs

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • A Draft customer order is treated as the Approved demand needed for release.
  • The resource is in Maintenance or Unavailable when the action requires Available.
  • Planned dates reach the release queue before their feasibility is resolved.
  • People expect a released work order to have completed its production and inspection steps.
