How a Product Roadmap Tool rollout works
Start with a small project and rehearse the handoffs before wider use.
Prepare people and organizations
Enter the organizations and active team members who will own the first project.
Plan a pilot project
Add its owner, budget and dates, then create packages, tasks and milestones.
Exercise exceptions
Raise an issue with severity, add a risk with mitigation, and follow a blocked task and missed checkpoint.
Rehearse review and time
Submit a valid time entry, inspect the decision and receipt, and have a Reviewer decide on a delivery subject.
Open the operating cycle
Agree the meeting cadence and who updates each status, date and estimate.
What the customer provides
Bring the first project scope, organization, owners, dates, budget and team capacity. Provide the package plan, initial tasks, checkpoint dates and the people who will review delivery. Choose how files will be stored and which record should hold each attachment link. A real pilot should include an ordinary work item and an exception so the team can see both paths.
Changing it afterwards
A Project Manager can revise packages, tasks and dates as the delivery plan changes. The Delivery Lead should review the effect on project status and checkpoints. Keep prior review decisions and operation receipts for the work they describe; use a new decision for a changed subject. Recheck permissions and the time approval outcome when adding people or changing the operating process.
