Draft to released work

Check demand, quantity, resource and schedule before releasing the exact work order.

Step by step

  1. Check approved demand Production Planner

Production Planner follows the work order’s order reference to the intended sales order and verifies Approved status. Check product against the demand context in sales order lines. Agree the order approval source with Manager and check its evidence before the production release attempt.

    • Verify the release prerequisite
    • Updates Work orders, Orders, Order lines, Items
  2. Prepare the production draft Production Planner

Production Planner checks the exact Draft work order identity, positive planned quantity, resource, planned start and planned end. Resolve the eligible resource and inspect the whole planned interval against existing work.

    • Prepare eligible planned inputs
    • Updates Work orders, Resources
  3. Release the frozen input Production Planner

Production Planner invokes the work release action as the authenticated person resolved through the staff record’s linked user account. The workflow validates approved order, positive quantity, available resource and a feasible non-overlapping schedule before moving status from Draft to Released.

    • Change Draft to Released through WF-01
    • Updates Work orders, Orders, Resources, People
  4. Hand off eligible work Production Operator

Production Operator reads the released instruction within assigned scope. Batch identity is created when production begins through the production interval action. Release alone must not manufacture a lot or supply missing production evidence.

    • Expose the released instruction in assigned scope
    • Updates Work orders, People

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • The linked order is still Draft or has changed since the planning inputs were prepared.
  • A resource marked Maintenance is treated as available because the customer requested an earlier date.
  • The next run starts before another planned interval ends, even though its start date appears plausible.
  • A planner edits released inputs or creates batches during release instead of preserving the guarded handoff.
