Target to shift review

Capture the planning basis and attributed shift result, then compare the same production population.

Step by step

  1. Agree the target basis Production Planner

Production Planner selects the intended resource, product and production day. Check the item's unit and agree what planned minutes represents before comparing later output. The resource and product references define the population.

    • Define the comparable production scope
    • Updates Resources, Items, Production targets
  2. Save the target Production Operator

Production Operator invokes the target capture action with the actual resource and product references, target date, target good units and planned minutes. The workflow resolves the actor through the staff record’s linked user account, validates the inputs and returns immutable attributed evidence for review.

    • Save validated attributed target evidence
    • Updates Production targets, People
  3. Record the shift Production Operator

Production Operator selects the actual target and submits shift code, good units, scrap units, run minutes and recording date through the shift capture action. Verify the returned target reference before the result reaches the operating review.

    • Save validated attributed actual evidence
    • Updates Shift actuals, Production targets, People
  4. Explain the result Production Planner

Production Planner compares effective actual good units with the target and run minutes with planned minutes. Follow target to resource, product and target date. A missing summary remains missing evidence; a zero denominator leaves the corresponding ratio undefined.

    • Compare the effective linked population
    • Updates Shift actuals, Production targets
  5. Review a correction Production Operator or Production Planner

Production Operator uses the guarded successor path when target or actual inputs change. Production Planner reviews the revised basis within authority. Preserve the earlier evidence and verify which corrected record is effective in the comparison.

    • Retain original and successor evidence
    • Updates Production targets, Shift actuals

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • A shift links to a target for another resource or product because the operator chooses a similar name.
  • The recording date becomes the grouping day even though the linked target date represents the production day.
  • Earlier submissions and corrected successors are added together, increasing apparent output or planned demand.
  • Production log quantities are added to shift actuals although both describe the same production.
