How the model is organised

Project frame

Projects holds the initiative; project templates, Teams, priority levels and project members support its setup.

Delivery plan

Tasks, task dependencies and Milestones carry the work, order and checkpoints.

People and evidence

Users, task assignments, task comments, task attachments and task time entries tie people and work together.

Communication

Project status updates, Mentions and activity feed keep written updates and activity context.

Configuration

Tags, custom fields and Users2 hold further labels, extension definitions and user records.

Keys and references

Projects links tasks, milestones, members, status updates and time entries. Tasks links assignments, predecessors, comments, attachments and effort. Users identifies project owners, managers, assignees and authors. A saved list screen reads its source table; it does not create a separate record store.

Migration order

  1. Prepare Users, Teams and the reference choices the pilot will use.
  2. Import Projects and check owner, manager, dates and visibility.
  3. Add project members, Tasks and task hierarchy.
  4. Add task dependencies, task assignments and Milestones.
  5. Bring over comments, attachments, time entries, status updates and activity only where source identity and dates can be reconciled.
