Sourcing to issued order

The Buyer starts from an approved request and chooses the appropriate purchasing route. A contract-backed call-off follows the agreement process. Competitive sourcing uses a quotation request and documented responses before the order approval. Keep the connection to the original need throughout the decision.

Step by step

  1. Choose the route Buyer

The Buyer reviews the approved need and selects direct order, quotation request or blanket release. Retain the conversion event and generated purchasing reference so a later retry can be reconciled to the same business action.

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Different offers. An alternate item is compared as if it exactly matched the original scope.
  • Stale comparison. A revised quote arrives after the recommendation was reviewed.
  • Ambiguous acknowledgment. The supplier confirms an older order revision while the Buyer expects the current one.
