How a Aerospace and Defense QMS rollout works

Set up a small quality cycle and review each handoff before widening use.

  1. Name the scope

Choose one inspected part or assembly, its quality owners and the first document revision to manage.

  2. Set up identities

Link People to platform users and agree inspection, audit, part and revision naming.

  3. Run inspection work

Assign an inspection, record linked characteristic results and review an accepted and rejected case.

  4. Follow the issue

Rehearse containment, the approved action state and effectiveness review on the rejected case.

  5. Review supporting evidence

Run one audit through reporting, submit one controlled document for release and check a first article and trace entry.

  6. Expand carefully

Compare the pilot records and roles with the team's operating practice before adding more subjects.

What the customer provides

Provide the pilot subject identifiers, inspection requirements, people who record and decide, audit scope, controlled instruction and available certificate files. Agree the definitions for nonconformance severity and what evidence an effectiveness reviewer must see.

Changing it afterwards

Review the effect of new inspection types, status practices and document conventions on existing cases. Keep linked evidence attached to its original inspection, audit or document record. Rehearse the changed handoff with the people who perform it.
