Step by step

1. Plan inspection Inspector

   Inspector identifies the subject, inspection type, schedule and assigned person. The case starts Planned. An incoming case might identify a received part in the subject reference; an in-process case might identify the production step under review.

   • Creates the identified case and assignee

2. Record checks Inspector

   Inspector starts work and records each requirement, observation, result and required evidence on the linked check. A Pending result is visible but cannot stand in for a completed check.

3. Submit inspection Inspector

   Inspector checks every required result and attachment, then sends the case to Review. The submission rule rejects a missing required check rather than sending an incomplete case to the reviewer.

   • Moves a complete case to Review

4. Review inspection Quality Reviewer

   Quality Reviewer reads the check results and attachments, then accepts eligible passing scope or rejects failed scope. A reviewer decision carries the inspection into Accepted or Rejected.

   ApprovalA person approves before the work moves on.

5. Contain failure Quality Reviewer

   For a rejection, Quality Reviewer opens a nonconformance linked to the inspection, chooses severity and directs containment follow-up. The record starts Open and advances to Containment when that response is under way.

   • Links the issue and records severity
   • Updates Nonconformances, Inspections

Inspector

Prepares and submits the inspection.

Quality Reviewer

Makes the review decision and starts the linked issue.

Corrective Action Owner

Takes the later cause and action work.
