- Who it's for
- Ingredient processing
Ingredient processing
Ingredient processors need a clear answer about the material they received and the checks performed before it entered the next step. QMS for Food and Beverage can hold the incoming subject reference, assigned inspection, check evidence and any linked control point reading. The quality decision remains tied to the inspection.
How Food and Beverage QMS is set up for you
Receiving inspection
Use Incoming as the inspection type, enter a recognizable subject reference and assign a Quality Inspector for the scheduled date.
Evidence at requirement level
Record each requirement, observation, result and attachment under the inspection so a reviewer can assess the actual finding.
Control point context
Link a HACCP reading to the inspection with a product lot, observed temperature and limits.
Rejected material
Follow the rejected inspection into a nonconformance in containment, then record severity and the corrective action plan.
Ingredient processors need a clear answer about the material they received and the checks performed before it entered the next step. QMS for Food and Beverage can hold the incoming subject reference, assigned inspection, check evidence and any linked control point reading. The quality decision remains tied to the inspection.
Start with one ingredient family and a receiving procedure the team already follows. Choose a subject reference format that matches the receiving paperwork and a consistent product lot identifier. Have Quality Inspector record a passing case and a failed case. Quality Manager should review both from the inspection screen and explain the difference between an accepted inspection and a completed correction.
For the failed case, test how the containment decision reaches the person who physically holds material. If inventory status lives elsewhere, include the handoff to that system in the rehearsal. Keep the quality record as the place to recover the observation and decision. Review the open inspection and nonconformance lists together until the team trusts the daily queue.
