Process Production
Process production teams can attach a sampled lot to an Inspection while retaining their own work order and product references. The lot record stores sample size and lot size. Inspector observations and check results sit under the inspection; defect observations sit under the lot. The Reviewer can follow both trails before deciding on the inspected scope.
How Manufacturing QMS is set up for you
Sample identity
Record the lot number and product code used on the floor so later reviewers can locate the same scope.
Requirement evidence
Use linked inspection checks to state what was observed and whether each requirement passed, failed or was not applicable.
Defect attribution
Record defective units, severity and date on the lot where the condition was found.
Issue closure
When a failed inspection creates a Nonconformance, keep corrective action linked until effectiveness is accepted.
Process production teams can attach a sampled lot to an Inspection while retaining their own work order and product references. The lot record stores sample size and lot size. Inspector observations and check results sit under the inspection; defect observations sit under the lot. The Reviewer can follow both trails before deciding on the inspected scope.
Choose one recurring inspection type and one production lot that the team can identify without ambiguity. The Inspector links the lot to the inspection, records its sizes and enters check observations. Add a defect observation if a condition is found. The Reviewer opens the lot and checks before accepting or rejecting the scope. This tests whether the recorded sample context is enough to explain the decision.
For a rejection, ask the Quality Manager to describe the affected scope and lead containment. Assign an owner to record root cause and corrective action. During rehearsal, hold the issue open while the action remains under effectiveness review. The result should trace from the sampled lot to the inspection decision and then to the linked correction. Agree how the quality team obtains the production identifiers before extending this pattern to more areas.
Features to start with
Nonconformances
Link rejected inspection scope to containment, investigation and disposition work.
Inspections
Schedule inspections, capture check results and review the decision on the inspected scope.
Defect Observations
Record defect codes, severity and affected units against production inspection lots.
Roles on the team
- Inspector
- Records inspection checks, production inspection lots and defect observations for assigned work.
- Reviewer
- Decides whether reviewed inspections are accepted or rejected and opens containment work for failures.
- Quality Manager
- Owns nonconformance disposition and reviews the quality record across operations.
- Corrective Action Owner
- Investigates assigned nonconformances and submits corrective action evidence.
- Admin
- Configures access and maintains people and user records.
