Lot and Defect Capture

Connect production identities and observed defects to their inspected scope.

Step by step

  1. Select inspection Inspector

Inspector chooses the inspection whose scope the production lot describes.

    • Inspected scope identified
    • Updates Inspections
  2. Capture production lot Inspector

Inspector enters the work order reference, product code, lot number, sample size and lot size. The capture workflow validates these values and the inspection reference before saving.

    • Production identity and sample context linked
    • Updates Production inspection lots, Inspections
  3. Inspect sampled work Inspector

Inspector records the linked inspection checks and their observations on the selected inspection.

    • Requirement observations recorded
    • Updates Inspection checks, Inspections
  4. Record defect observation Inspector

Inspector selects the saved lot, then records defect code, severity, defective units and observed date. The defect workflow validates these values and the lot link before saving.

    • Affected units and severity attributed to the lot
    • Updates Defect observations, Production inspection lots
  5. Read the trail Reviewer

Reviewer follows the observation through the lot to the selected inspection when considering the inspected scope.

    • Lot evidence considered alongside inspection work
    • Updates Defect observations, Production inspection lots, Inspections
