Production teams
Production teams often inspect the same subject at several points. The inspection type distinguishes Incoming, in-process and Final work, while the subject reference identifies the item being checked. Quality Manager can assign an Inspector and planned date for each inspection. Linked checks hold requirements, observations, results and attachments, giving a reviewer evidence to use at the decision point.
How Quality Management is set up for you
Receiving checks
Use Incoming inspections to record what was examined before material moves into the work area.
Work in process
Use in-process inspections when a condition must be checked while the item is being made.
Final release
Use Final inspections to present completed check evidence to Quality Approver for acceptance or rejection.
Correction trace
When failed scope is rejected, follow its linked nonconformance and corrective actions through effectiveness review.
Choose one product or work stream and agree a subject reference convention with the team that supplies it. Start with a short set of check requirements that Inspectors already perform. Decide which observations and attachments are required for each. The conduct workflow will reject a start or submission if required evidence is missing, so test those rules with a real example before expanding the scope.
Run one passing and one failing Final inspection. In the passing case, Quality Approver accepts the work after reading the check evidence. In the failing case, the reviewer rejects the failed scope and opens a linked issue. Assign a corrective owner, record root cause and action, and test that independent effectiveness review occurs before closure. This rehearsal shows whether the team can find the original failed observation later.
The production system remains the source for the item or order represented by the subject reference. Agree how people will use the same identifier in both places during implementation. Quality Overview can then help Quality Manager see recent inspections and status mix while the underlying inspection records carry the detailed evidence.
Features to start with
Corrective Actions
Assign a correction, retain its root cause and verify effectiveness before closing the issue.
Inspections
Assign inspections, collect check evidence and send completed work for a quality decision.
Nonconformances
Keep rejected inspection scope tied to its issue, containment and disposition.
