Production to quality release

A completed production interval provides evidence for the later batch decision. Production Operator captures the completed work, while Quality Reviewer decides eligible output through the guarded release action. Follow the actual receipt result when reconciling accepted finished quantities at the end of the operating cycle.

Step by step

  1. Capture the completed interval Production Operator

Production Operator submits the start and end, reported good and scrap quantities and the intended work-order and operator links. The recording action validates the completed interval and saves its evidence. Rehearse the actual timestamp and quantity checks with the team's operating examples.

    • Save attributed interval and output evidence
    • Updates Production logs, Work orders, People
  2. Review pending output Quality Reviewer

Quality Reviewer opens the batch marked Pending and follows its work order to the finished product and production evidence. Inspect the production and expiry dates with the team's source owner where a date needs clarification.

    • Inspect the lot awaiting a decision
    • Updates Batches, Work orders, Production logs, Items
  3. Release accepted output Quality Reviewer

Quality Reviewer approves the inspected batch through the accepted-output action. It verifies inspection and accepted production output before releasing the disposition. Held and Rejected batches and unauthorized actors fail the action even when they can read the pending queue.

    • Authorize eligible Pending to Released output
    • Updates Batches, Work orders
ApprovalA person approves before the work moves on.
  4. Confirm receipt and completion Quality Reviewer or Production Planner

Quality Reviewer or Production Planner inspects the successful result. Release receives finished goods once and then completes the intended work order. Already-received output is rejected so a repeated request cannot add the same finished quantity again.

    • Verify a single finished-goods receipt and completion
    • Updates Batches, Inventory balances, Work orders
  5. Investigate blocked output Production Planner or Quality Reviewer

Production Planner and Quality Reviewer inspect Held or Rejected batches alongside their original production context. Agree any later recovery or disposition procedure with the responsible people, preserving the original result while the affected output is investigated.

    • Establish the unresolved disposition context
    • Updates Batches, Work orders, Production logs

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Reported good quantity is confused with received finished goods.
  • The reviewer cannot identify the inspection evidence for the presented lot.
  • An operator attempts the reviewer's action through a readable batch record.
  • A repeated release receives output again or a Held disposition bypasses the guard.
