Recipe preparation

Use the formulation's base yield and ingredient records to establish the intended production basis. Production Planner owns draft preparation. Production Operator submits ingredient evidence against the selected version. Agree the recipe reviewer and rehearse the submission route during setup before using it for operating decisions.

Step by step

  1. Identify production context Production Planner

Production Planner selects the intended work order and finished product. Check the product unit and planned quantity before linking the formulation to that work. Keep the selected record available when reviewing the ingredient basis.

    • Link the formulation to its intended work
    • Updates Work orders, Items, Recipe versions
  2. Draft the version Production Planner

Production Planner enters the recipe name, version, base yield and yield unit while the formulation is marked Draft. Use the agreed naming convention so another shift can identify the same basis without guessing from a similar label.

    • Establish a Draft yield basis
    • Updates Recipe versions
  3. Check the scaling basis Production Planner

Production Planner compares the base yield with the planned quantity. A 100 kg base and 250 kg plan imply a reviewed factor of 2.5 when the units are compatible. Obtain an agreed conversion basis before using mixed units and check the resulting ingredient calculation with the formulation owner.

    • Review compatible quantities and calculation inputs
    • Updates Recipe versions, Work orders, Items
  4. Capture ingredient evidence Production Operator

Production Operator submits the ingredient line with its selected recipe, material, quantity, unit and allergen declaration. The submission route checks the acting person and linked records, reviews the existing lines and sends immutable evidence to the responsible reviewer. Investigate incomplete declarations with their source owner.

    • Submit attributed ingredient evidence
    • Updates Recipe ingredients, Recipe versions, Items, People, Users
  5. Check the review handoff Admin or Production Operator

Admin coordinates the ordinary-account rehearsal. Production Operator shows the submitted version and evidence, while Production Planner confirms the preparation basis. Agree the person who decides the recipe outcome and demonstrate how a corrected declaration reaches that person.

    • Rehearse submission and reviewer responsibility
    • Updates Recipe versions, Recipe ingredients, People, Users

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • A new version label is treated as a decision before the preparation basis has been reviewed.
  • Planned quantity and base yield use incompatible units without an agreed conversion.
  • An ingredient declaration belongs to a different material or earlier formulation.
  • The operator's staff account cannot be resolved for the submission.
