What you can do

Consultant delivery in daily work

A consultant enters the delivery date, description, hours, rate and billable flag against a client mandate. The submitted line carries the consultant and mandate references into the review queue. The reviewer checks the work and decides whether the line can be accepted. The approval operation moves a qualifying submitted line to Approved and writes both a review decision and an operation receipt.

How the work is organized

  • Source record. consultant deliveries holds each dated line of work, its hours, rate, billable flag and mandate. The submitted line is the source for the approval operation; review decisions and operation receipts retain its outcome.
  • Named owner. Consultant corrects the source line when a guard fails. Delivery Reviewer checks the billable flag, positive hours and mandate before approving.
  • Visible outcome. Check the source status and linked evidence before the next person acts.

What to agree during setup

Agree which delivery descriptions are required, who reviews each mandate and how rate corrections are made. Keep the source delivery linked to its review outcome so the team can explain a later difference between delivered, approved and invoiced amounts. Review failed operation receipts during the pilot rather than treating a button click as acceptance.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Suppose a consultant submits a day of search work but leaves the mandate empty. The reviewer should see the incomplete source line. The approval operation leaves it Submitted and writes a Failed receipt. The consultant corrects the source before another attempt. A nonbillable line or a line without hours follows the same guard. A successful approval gives the finance team an approved amount to inspect in Approved Not Invoiced; it does not itself issue a placement fee invoice.

When an approval fails, match the Failed receipt to the delivery code before correcting the source line. A successful receipt should agree with the review decision and Approved status. The reviewer can then compare the accepted hours and rate with the same mandate’s delivered amount.

The reviewer should compare the delivery date with the mandate period and confirm that the consultant named on the line performed the work. This keeps the approval tied to an identifiable person and search.

What your team sees

  • Approved Not Invoiced — Inspect accepted delivery by consultant and mandate before discussing billing.
  • Rejected Consultant Deliveries — Review rejected delivery rows separately from failed approval attempts that remain Submitted.
