- Who it's for
- Residential rental operators
Residential rental operators
Residential rental operators often follow many similar monthly obligations. The platform keeps each expected rent amount attached to a lease and accounting document, while captured provider cash enters as its own receipt. The finance team can explain what was billed, what arrived and what remains open.
How Rental Payment Platform is set up for you
Tenant context
Business partners keep the tenant identity used by documents and receipts.
Due dates
Rent schedules show the lease and expected payment date.
Partial payments
Cash applications retain the actual amount applied to a posted invoice.
Review trail
Decisions and attachments show why a document or schedule moved forward.

Choose a typical lease with one full payment and another with a partial payment. Set up the relevant partner records, schedules and accounting documents. Let a separate reviewer inspect each submitted revision. Post the approved invoices, import verified provider events, and apply only the cash actually received. Reimport one event to test duplicate handling. Ask the Operations Manager to explain the open balance and the next action from the records. See [cash application](/rental-payment-platform/modules/cash-application) for the day-to-day record flow.
When a tenant pays in installments, keep each provider event as a separate cash receipt. The Cash Reconciler can apply an amount from each verified receipt while the document remains open for the unpaid portion. Ask the Ledger Accountant to explain the original posting separately from those later applications so the team can answer a tenant’s balance question from the records.
