Connections and source ownership

Agree where funder, payment and publication facts originate before connecting systems.

  • Research Management System
  • Funder portals
  • Finance and payment systems
  • Publication repositories
  • Source evidence storage

Systems to connect

  • Funder portals. Agree how award terms, restrictions and reporting dates reach the program team. Keep the award record tied to the program after import.
  • Finance and payment systems. Agree which system confirms payment before an approved expense is recorded as paid. Reconcile claim amounts and the recorded Paid status during the pilot.
  • Publication repositories. Agree how output identifiers and publication dates are checked against the external source. Keep each output linked to its research project.
  • Source evidence storage. Decide where original expense, milestone and outcome evidence is retained and how attachments are reviewed.

How connections are governed

Name a source owner and receiving owner for each connection. Test a repeated award, a corrected payment confirmation and an output identifier already in use. Compare funder, award date and amount before importing an award again; compare protocol references and output identifiers before adding research records. Review errors with the Program Officer, Finance Officer or Principal Investigator according to the record involved.
