What you can do
Make the due date visible
A Confirmation is a dated checkpoint within a booking. It has a name, due date, owner and state. The Project Manager can use it for a delivery handoff, a client review or another agreed milestone in the engagement. Pending checkpoints belong in the daily review, especially when their due date is close. Marking a checkpoint met or missed records what happened; the booking owner can then decide whether the larger plan needs a change.
The evidence area also carries review decisions and operation receipts. A review decision records an approved, rejected or returned outcome on a named delivery subject, with reviewer, date and notes. An operation receipt records the type and result of an action. The configured conflict and usage workflows write receipts, and usage approval writes a decision as well. Record attachments provide a place to reference a file and its parent record identifier where the team needs supporting material.
How the work is organized
- Checkpoints. Dated confirmations sit under the booking and have a named owner.
- Decisions. Review records preserve the reviewer, outcome and subject reference.
- Receipts. Action results distinguish successful and failed operations for follow-up.
What to agree during setup
Choose checkpoint names that describe an observable event. Decide who updates the checkpoint after the due date and who reviews a missed one. Define how the team identifies a review subject so a later reader can trace the decision back to the work. Agree what file types the team will attach and where original files are stored. A file URL can point to your document system, but the connection and access policy need setup in that system. Keep the receipt trail available to the people responsible for resolving failed actions.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Create a confirmation for an upcoming handoff, name its owner and due date, and find it in Confirmations At Risk while it is pending. After the handoff, update it to met and check that it leaves the pending list. Repeat with a checkpoint that is missed. The Project Manager should decide whether the booking needs a revised schedule or an exception record. On a submitted usage entry, inspect the review decision and operation receipt created by approval. On a failed approval attempt, inspect the receipt without treating it as an approved decision.
A reviewer should be able to distinguish a checkpoint’s state from a review decision. A date being met does not approve recorded hours. Likewise, a successful operation receipt says a configured action executed; it does not replace the underlying work record or the responsible person’s follow-up.
