Booking setup

A Project Manager begins with the organization receiving the work. The booking then gives the engagement one subject, owner, date range, type and budget. A delivery lead can use that record to trace the work that follows. If the engagement is internal, use an internal organization so the same ownership and reporting pattern applies.

Step by step

  1. Set up the booking Project Manager

The Project Manager records the organization, owner and agreed dates. The booking starts planned and becomes active when the work starts.

    • Creates the engagement and its schedule
    • Updates Organizations, Bookings
  2. Group the work Project Manager

The Project Manager separates delivery into work groups, each with its own date window and capacity hours.

    • Defines work groups under the booking
    • Updates Resources, Bookings
  3. Assign the work Delivery Lead

The Delivery Lead creates individual items, names assignees and reserves hours against the group.

    • Gives individual work an assignee, dates and reserved hours
    • Updates Booking resources, Resources, Team members
