What you can do
Preparation and service
Connect kitchen progress, served portions and fulfillment events to the meal order. Kitchen Lead records actual preparation time on meal lines after the ticket decision. Service Manager checks which lines are prepared before marking the parent order Ready. Service Staff records served portions and the actual served time. Where an external channel is connected, fulfillment events adds a product-level event with quantity, event type and external identifier.
An accepted order moves into preparation after the kitchen handoff. Staff record when each line was prepared and how many portions were served. The service manager checks the lines with preparation times before marking the order ready. Service staff record actual service time when the work is served. Where an external fulfillment channel is used, its event is linked to the same order and product.
How the work is organized
- Working scope. Kitchen Lead checks the approved ticket and records when each meal line was prepared.
- Decision point. Service Manager checks prepared lines before Ready; Service Staff records the portions actually served.
- Evidence. meal lines holds preparation time and served quantity; fulfillment events holds external event identity and time.
What to agree during setup
Agree who changes order status, who records served portions and when the served time is entered. For delivery work, map the external event identifier to the order so duplicate events can be recognized. Service locations include outlets and delivery destinations; choose the correct active location at intake.
Write down the policy in the team’s operating procedure before the first service cycle. Give each role the access it needs for its step and rehearse denied access as well as the successful path. The organization and location on the order should match the staff and service work involved.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Follow an order with partially served lines. Compare ordered portions, prepared time and served portions before marking the entire order served. Check that a delivered fulfillment event has an occurrence time and external identifier. If work is cancelled, retain the order and any already served history for review.
Have Service Staff compare the served count with the requested portions on each line. A delivered external event describes the outside channel; it does not by itself establish that every line was served.
