How a Revenue Management System rollout works

Pilot one property cycle from rate observation to unit turnover.

  1. Agree the operating owners

Assign Revenue Manager, Front Desk Agent, Finance Clerk and Service Coordinator to their decisions and confirm Property Manager oversight.

  2. Load the foundation

Enter people, parties, units and rate plans with consistent unit type names and effective dates.

  3. Rehearse the revenue decision

Capture a dated demand observation, submit a linked rate proposal, approve a valid proposal and publish the approved recommendation.

  4. Rehearse the stay

Confirm a valid booking, check in the guest, post a folio charge, record checkout and compare it with a provider-confirmed payment.

  5. Rehearse exceptions

Try invalid dates, excess party size, a nonpositive rate, an invalid observation and a pending payment. Check the reason and unchanged record before release.

What the customer provides

Provide a representative season of rate terms, current unit list, a small set of real stay scenarios, guest and staff identities, and the source of payment confirmations and competitor observations. Name who can approve a rate and who can correct source records. Preserve booking and payment references when importing history.

Changing it afterwards

Review a rate plan change against future stays before applying it. A corrected observation should retain the prior decision context. When a role assignment or source connection changes, repeat the accepted and rejected cases with the person who inherits the work. Keep the tested configuration and examples with the property handoff.
