Extended-stay properties
An extended-stay team needs the reservation interval, minimum-night rule and unit status to agree before it confirms a guest. Charges and payments can accumulate as separate records against the same stay. The team can inspect each item and its status when departure is recorded.
How Revenue Management System is set up for you
Check the interval
Compare arrival and departure against the minimum nights for the unit type.
Keep charges legible
Record dated folio items with their own posting status.
Follow service requests
Assign guest service and maintenance tasks to staff with due dates.
An extended-stay team needs the reservation interval, minimum-night rule and unit status to agree before it confirms a guest. Charges and payments can accumulate as separate records against the same stay. The team can inspect each item and its status when departure is recorded.
Pilot a longer reservation whose stay crosses a plan boundary. Agree how the property chooses the nightly rate and records it on that reservation. Add a guest service task and a payment awaiting provider confirmation. After checkout, compare only posted charges and confirmed receipts and retain any outstanding balance for follow-up. Ask Finance Clerk to show the payment reference used to confirm the receipt.
Before widening the property scope, ask Revenue Manager to show the reason for a changed rate, Front Desk Agent to demonstrate a valid and an invalid booking, and Finance Clerk to explain the difference between posted charges and confirmed payments. Review the unit released to Cleaning with Service Coordinator. Keep the sample records so each person can check the same case during training, including the provider payment reference.
