Rate review and publication

Rate review and publication puts a human decision between a proposed amount and publication. Revenue Manager examines the linked reservation, stay date, unit type and reason before approval. Published is a state of the recommendation; it does not replace the nightly amount already recorded on a reservation.

Step by step

  1. Propose rate Revenue Manager

Revenue Manager links a Proposed change to a reservation and records a reason.

    • Keeps the proposed amount and its context together.
    • Updates Rate recommendations, Reservations
  2. Review rate Revenue Manager

Revenue Manager checks the linked stay and positive proposed amount, then approves a valid proposal. An invalid submission returns a reason and remains unchanged.

    • Records Approved as a human decision for a valid proposal.
    • Updates Rate recommendations, Reservations
ApprovalA person approves before the work moves on.
  3. Publish rate Revenue Manager

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Invalid proposed amount. A nonpositive amount or incomplete submission returns a reason and leaves the proposal unchanged.
  • Wrong linked stay. Compare the recommendation with its reservation before approval; the proposed amount alone cannot identify the intended date or unit.
  • Premature publication. A proposal must reach Approved before Published. Keep a rejected recommendation distinct from one awaiting review.
