Service turnover

Service turnover begins when a checked-out stay releases its unit to Cleaning. Service Coordinator assigns the unit work to a person, records its due date and follows the task to completion. A completed task gives the next shift evidence of work done; someone still checks the unit status before another arrival.

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Unassigned task. A cleaning item without a person in People leaves the next shift unsure who owns it.
  • Wrong unit or stay. Check both references before the assignee begins; a correct completion date on the wrong room does not prepare the intended unit.
  • Premature availability. Completed service work and a unit marked Available are separate facts. Confirm readiness before changing the unit status or promising it to a guest.
