What you can do

Make the resource plan visible before confirmation

A salon appointment may need a styling chair, a treatment room or shared equipment. Front Desk attaches the required resources to the booking through reservation lines. Each line identifies the resource and can record capacity, reserved units and the setup and cleanup allowances used during planning.

Salon Manager maintains resource identity and eligibility notes. The hold action checks the booking and its current revision before placing an eligible interval on hold. The resulting receipt gives the team an outcome to inspect when someone needs to confirm whether the hold action succeeded or requires follow-up.

How the work is organized

  • Resource identity. Salon Manager maintains the resource code, location context and eligibility note. Front Desk uses that identity when attaching a chair, room or equipment item to the booking.
  • Reservation planning. Front Desk records reserved units and the capacity basis on the booking’s resource line. Setup and cleanup allowances help the team discuss the space needed around the intended appointment period.
  • Guarded hold. Front Desk runs the hold action against the current booking revision. An accepted action moves the booking to Held and records its operation outcome for the next confirmation step.

What to agree during setup

Agree what a reserved unit means for each resource and who maintains the capacity basis used on reservation lines. Decide how setup and cleanup allowances affect the interval considered during eligibility review. Rehearse that treatment with the actual booking actions before using it across the salon’s appointment plan.

Confirm whether the booking’s main resource counterparty and its reservation lines have different responsibilities in your operating procedure. A clear convention prevents the front desk from selecting one resource as the main context while the service team prepares another. If resource information comes from another scheduling system, agree that connection and its identifiers during setup.

Check the handoff on an actual case

For a rehearsal, prepare a treatment from 10:00 to 11:30 with a room and shared equipment. Front Desk records a reserved unit for each resource. Agree that the room needs 15 minutes of setup and 10 minutes of cleanup. Under that planning convention, Salon Manager reviews room use from 09:45 to 11:40. Keep each resource line tied to the parent booking’s appointment interval.

Run the hold with the current booking revision and inspect its receipt. Repeat that successful action with the same operation identity to check that the outcome is reused. In a separate test, use a booking at revision 6 and attempt a new hold with revision 5. Confirm that the stale attempt is refused. The team should be able to explain the planning window and identify the accepted hold outcome.

What your team sees

  • Resource Reservations — Review booking lines with reserved units, capacity basis and setup and cleanup allowances.
  • Held Bookings — Find appointments currently held while confirmation evidence is reviewed.
  • Appointment Schedule — Compare the booking’s intended start and end with its resource plan.

Follow the work through

Follow Booking request to confirmation, then prepare the supporting records in Consent and Payment Evidence.
