Import teams
An importer can keep the supplier, requested goods, order reference and declaration together. The Buyer owns the purchase; the Customs Coordinator records entry and duty details. A Trade Reviewer checks the purchase revision before it becomes an order.
How Cross-border Trade SCM is set up for you
Imported components
Use item descriptions and requested quantities to show what is expected from the supplier.
Mixed-currency organizations
Keep the organization currency visible while purchase amounts and duty remain in USD.
Multiple entry numbers
Use separate linked declarations when a purchase has more than one customs entry.
An importer can keep the supplier, requested goods, order reference and declaration together. The Buyer owns the purchase; the Customs Coordinator records entry and duty details. A Trade Reviewer checks the purchase revision before it becomes an order.
Use an inbound component order that already has an external filing reference. The Buyer enters the supplier, required date, requested amount and line quantities. The Trade Reviewer compares the current purchase revision with the decision's source revision before the Buyer records an order reference. A Return decision should send the Buyer back to the request detail and reason.
The Customs Coordinator links the entry to that same purchase and organization, then records the entry number, HS code, filed date and duty in USD from the filing evidence. If a shipment has separate entries, use separate linked declarations so each can carry its own status and decision date. Attach the relevant filing document with the intended visibility.
Rehearse a rejected entry. The coordinator should compare the external outcome with the declaration record before updating its status. The Trade Operations Lead checks that the purchase and declaration point to the same organization and that the next filing action has an owner. Agree how the external filing source supplies the decision evidence before expanding to more inbound orders.
