How a Hazardous Materials SCM rollout works
Set up the stock range, review owners and a rehearsed request-to-movement cycle.
Set the operating map
Add organizations, team members, items, lots and locations with eligibility notes.
Define the review
Agree who prepares checks, who independently decides them and which SDS revision is authoritative.
Rehearse a case
Run a request through check, decision, reservation, posted movement and receipt.
Test exceptions
Try a Quarantined or expired lot, changed revision, duplicate operation and partial reversal.
Release the cycle
Assign receipt follow-up and review the outcome of the first operating cases.
What the customer provides
Provide item SK us and base units, lot codes and expiry dates, organization and location records, eligibility notes, team assignments and the documents used for hazard review. Identify any existing system whose stock effects or SDS files need correlation.
Changing it afterwards
A changed request quantity or destination needs a new review of that scope. Preserve earlier decisions and posted movements. Correct stock with a linked compensating movement and examine uncertain receipts before repeating an operation.
