Multi-site materials teams
A materials team serving several sites needs a clear identity for each organization, location and team member. Items belong to organizations, and requests identify the organization, owner and locations in their scope. A common request flow helps reviewers see which site is asking for a movement and where the material is proposed to go.
How Hazardous Materials SCM is set up for you
Site records
Keep organizations, active locations and team members current so work reaches the right people.
Consistent review
Record the hazard class, SDS revision and reviewer reason on each case rather than assuming one site decision covers another.
Lot control
Check release and expiry for the selected lot at action time.
Outcome evidence
Read operation receipts and signed movements when a transfer or correction is questioned.
A materials team serving several sites needs a clear identity for each organization, location and team member. Items belong to organizations, and requests identify the organization, owner and locations in their scope. A common request flow helps reviewers see which site is asking for a movement and where the material is proposed to go.
Begin with one organization and one request route before adding more sites. Agree how location codes and eligibility notes are maintained. Assign an Inventory Coordinator and an independent Inventory Reviewer for the pilot. Create a request whose counterparty is another location, attach inspection evidence and record the review decision. Then have the operator reserve eligible stock and trace the posted movement.
For the second site, repeat the review rather than copying an earlier approval. A changed destination or quantity changes the scope that was decided. Rehearse a Pending receipt with an existing movement, so the team learns to read persisted effects before retrying an operation. Keep the original request and decision available when a successor correction is made.
