Service depot networks
A depot network can use locations for each repair center and keep requests tied to the organization that owns the stock. The coordinator sees which part is needed, where, and by when. A central reviewer can inspect critical reorders while local teams keep request ownership.
How Spare Parts SCM is set up for you
Depot requests
Give every repair center a stable location code and a named coordinator.
Critical equipment
Record the equipment model and minimum units for parts whose absence delays service.
Evidence
Attach compatibility notes to the parent request before review.
A depot network can use locations for each repair center and keep requests tied to the organization that owns the stock. The coordinator sees which part is needed, where, and by when. A central reviewer can inspect critical reorders while local teams keep request ownership.
Start with one organization and a small set of active locations. Load the catalog items the team actually requests, including base units and lot-tracking choices. Then enter a real request with its owner, item, quantity, location and required date. Use a critical part to rehearse the reorder decision: attach evidence, submit a revision, ask an independent reviewer to decide and check the operation receipt. Read the request alongside any reservation or posted movement before widening the operating scope. Agree which team member is responsible for resolving an exception and preserve the reason for every decision.
For the first review, choose a part whose equipment context and demand evidence are familiar to both the coordinator and reviewer. Compare the recorded request with the attachment and the decision reason. Ask the auditor to find the same case from the review log and explain the receipt result before the team broadens the scope.
