How a Warehousing SCM rollout works

Set up warehouse scope, rehearse approval and inspect stock evidence.

  1. Map the warehouse

Agree organization codes, storage location codes, item base units, lot rules and active team membership.

  2. Load the operating records

Add organizations, locations, items and lots before entering requests with owners and due dates.

  3. Rehearse the decision

Submit a put-away plan, have an independent reviewer decide the eligible revision and inspect its decision and operation receipt.

  4. Inspect stock effects

Inspect any posted movements and active reservations against their parent requests, items, locations and lots.

  5. Release the scope

Review access, attachments, exception handling and the Operations Overview with the people who will run the first cycle.

What the customer provides

Bring real organization and location codes, an item list with base units, lot details where applicable, a team roster and one representative stock request. Name the coordinator, independent reviewer and administrator for the pilot. Decide how request numbers and zone names will appear to staff.

Changing it afterwards

A changed item, location or owner can affect open work. Inspect linked requests before retiring a reference. Keep original decision and movement records visible when checking a later correction. Rehearse any change to approval authority with a submitted plan and verify the resulting evidence.
