Who it's for

Field parts teams

A field parts team needs to know which item was requested, where it was held and what actually left storage. The request records its owner, needed date and requested units. A location can represent a stockroom or another address used by the organization. Scans and posted movements then document the physical issue.

How SCM with Barcode/RFID is set up for you

Named demand

Put the subject, owner and required date on the request before staff pick a part.

Batch awareness

Use lot code, expiry and release state when a part is lot tracked.

Evidence at issue

Keep the tag read and any attached issue instruction with the same request.

Controlled correction

Review a count or return before linking a compensating movement to the original.

A field parts team needs to know which item was requested, where it was held and what actually left storage. The request records its owner, needed date and requested units. A location can represent a stockroom or another address used by the organization. Scans and posted movements then document the physical issue.

Choose a common replacement part and one stockroom. Create a request for a field repair and have the Inventory Coordinator select the item, location and quantity. The reviewer checks the current revision and records Approve or Return with a reason. A coordinator then records the picked quantity as a scan and checks the posted issue movement.

The first rehearsal should include a partial issue. A request for several units may be filled only in part. The team must inspect the reservation and movement separately so the unfilled portion remains clear. If the physical count differs from the movement, attach the count evidence and send the correction for review. Retaining both the original and compensating movement helps the request owner and Auditor understand what happened.

The operation outcome provides a place to see whether the action completed or needs investigation. A reader can start from the request and follow the decision, scan and movement without relying on a handwritten note about the stockroom.
