Customer-site inventory
Customer-site consignment needs a clear account of who owns goods, where they are held and when use becomes commercially final. An organization owns the operational records, a storage location represents the customer site, and the item and lot identify the goods. A usage record captures the agreed consumption event separately from the physical movement.
How SCM with Consignment Tracking is set up for you
Owner context
Use the organization and lot owner reference to keep ownership legible through storage and use.
Controlled receipt
Review the incoming stock request and link its inspection attachment to the resulting posted movement.
Site claim
Hold quantity for an intended use with a reservation tied to the request and location.
Agreement link
Use the agreement reference and used date on confirmed usage for commercial reconciliation.
Customer-site consignment needs a clear account of who owns goods, where they are held and when use becomes commercially final. An organization owns the operational records, a storage location represents the customer site, and the item and lot identify the goods. A usage record captures the agreed consumption event separately from the physical movement.
Select one customer site with an active location and one consigned item. Enter a representative receipt request with a named owner and required date. Attach the delivery or inspection evidence, have an independent reviewer decide on the request revision, then inspect the operation receipt and signed movement.
Next, prepare a reservation and a consumption record for a partial use. The reviewer should compare the used quantity with the request and physical stock history before accepting it. The completed usage list can then be grouped by agreement reference for the billing handoff. Agree the external billing connection and how the commercial team will confirm that the same consumption is not charged twice.
Include an exception in the rehearsal: a failed operation receipt or a movement with the wrong quantity. Use the exception list and review decision history to explain the correction. A compensating movement should remain linked to the original rather than erasing the first stock effect. This preserves a usable account for both parties at the site.
