- Multi-site operations
Multi-site operations
Teams operating across sites need to know which organization owns an item and where the stock effect took place. The app connects requests, items, locations and team members to an organization. A count session identifies its parent request and zone. Review decisions retain the named reviewer and source revision, while posted movements keep the item and location of each ledger effect.
How SCM with Cycle Counting is set up for you
Entity ownership
Organization codes distinguish the legal entity behind a request and its stock records.
Location identity
Storage location codes and eligibility notes help staff select the correct site or zone.
Named staff
Team members link to platform users, giving requests an owner and decisions a reviewer.
Local exceptions
Failed and review-needed receipts keep the parent request visible for investigation.
Teams operating across sites need to know which organization owns an item and where the stock effect took place. The app connects requests, items, locations and team members to an organization. A count session identifies its parent request and zone. Review decisions retain the named reviewer and source revision, while posted movements keep the item and location of each ledger effect.
Start with one active organization and a few locations with distinct codes. Add active items and link each team member to the correct organization and user. Prepare a stock request with a named owner, item and location. Have Cycle Count Operations record a blind count in the zone. Ask Inventory Reviewer to check the current revision and record the decision, then follow any posted adjustment to its operation receipt. Repeat the case in another location to confirm the team can distinguish the resulting movements.
Before adding more sites, agree how location codes are assigned and how an inactive location is handled. Define who maintains the organization's time zone and how required dates are interpreted by teams on different shifts. Decide whether the same person may work across organizations and how access to assigned records is rehearsed. Assign counting, review, oversight and administrator responsibilities for each operating entity, then rehearse access to assigned records.
