How do I get started?
Click Get started, then use Proto to configure SCM with Demand Forecasting for your business. Pilot one item, one region and channel, a planning horizon and a complete S&OP cycle.
What is a planning entity?
It is the item, region, channel and optional customer-segment series that receives a forecast and an assigned planner.
Can we compare the original forecast with the final plan?
Yes. A forecast period keeps baseline, adjusted, consensus and final amounts together, with actual quantity for later review.
How do promotions enter the review?
Marketing Manager prepares the item, dates, uplift and confidence. The team reviews the affected periods and the approval before carrying the assumption into consensus.
How are new products handled?
An introduction records its launch date, peak quantity, ramp duration and optional curve, similar-item and cannibalized-item references.
Who contributes to consensus?
Sales Rep, Marketing Manager and Operations Lead can enter period contributions with a source and justification. Demand Planning Manager reviews those inputs.
What happens when a forecast looks wrong?
Assign an exception, inspect the affected history and model run, and record the resolution or cycle decision.
Can we examine an alternative plan?
A what-if scenario records assumptions, affected planning entities and estimated impact against a base S&OP cycle.
Where does safety stock fit?
Item-location targets record service level, lead time, forecast variability and calculated quantities for inventory follow-up.
How is the cycle decision retained?
Meetings, attendees, decisions and forecast versions attach to the S&OP cycle, preserving the review sequence.
