Systems to connect

Agree the source of items and demand history and the destination for inventory targets.

  • SCM with Demand Forecasting
  • Item master
  • Sales history
  • Commercial data
  • Inventory planning

Systems to connect

  • Item master. Bring stable SKU, description, unit, price and lifecycle information into the planning item record.
  • Sales history. Load dated shipment or invoice quantities and their region and channel scope into historical sales.
  • Commercial data. Review price, marketing spend or other driver values when a forecasting model uses them.
  • Inventory planning. Send reviewed item-location safety stock and reorder targets to the inventory process after the cycle decision.

How connections are governed

Name the source owner, refresh cadence and reconciliation check for each feed. Historical sales records retain their source and load date; driver records retain source, period, unit and load date. Item and planning entity identifiers must remain stable when files are reloaded. For outbound targets, retain the computed date and published-to-inventory date so Operations Lead can distinguish the calculation from the handoff. Review a sample period and location before expanding the connection.
