Who it's for

Parts supply teams

Parts supply teams need to distinguish a familiar item from the exact customer demand that caused a new pull request. The order line holds the item code and quantities. The replenishment signal holds the bin and requested units. Together they let staff explain why another request was submitted for a commonly ordered part.

How SCM with Kanban Replenishment is set up for you

Order line context

Ordered, allocated and shipped units help the coordinator find remaining demand.

Product identity

The catalog holds SKU, name and base unit for a stocked product.

Revision check

Submission uses the signal's current revision, preserving the outcome in an operation receipt.

Review reason

A decision record can explain a rejected bin or quantity against the parent order.

Parts supply teams need to distinguish a familiar item from the exact customer demand that caused a new pull request. The order line holds the item code and quantities. The replenishment signal holds the bin and requested units. Together they let staff explain why another request was submitted for a commonly ordered part.

Start with parts whose SKU and base unit can be agreed across the catalog, order import and fulfillment source. A unit mismatch is particularly costly when a repeated small part is ordered in packs by one source and individual units by another. The pilot should make that mapping explicit before staff use requested units for an operational decision.

Choose a customer order with several parts, one partially shipped line and an empty bin. The Order Coordinator identifies the line and prepares a signal with the correct parent order and organization. The reviewer checks the current signal revision and explains any mismatch with the order line. Later, the coordinator compares fulfillment events with line progress to see whether the original demand has been served.

Use failed operation receipts in the rehearsal. An older revision should result in a visible failure reason rather than a second submitted request. Keep external fulfillment event identifiers so the same source occurrence can be recognized if it is sent again.
