How a SCM with Lot Tracking rollout works
Set up stock identity, rehearse reviewed work and reconcile the first operating cycle.
Map the scope
Choose an organization, active locations, item range and people who prepare and review stock work.
Prepare master records
Confirm SKU, base unit, lot codes, expiry dates, release states and location eligibility notes.
Rehearse a request
Have an Inventory Coordinator submit a receive or move request and a separate Inventory Reviewer decide its revision.
Follow the effect
Compare the decision with the operation receipt, signed movement or active reservation.
Rehearse an exception
Use a Failed or needs review receipt and a recall scope to establish who investigates and what evidence closes the case.
Extend the range
Add organizations, items and locations after the first cycle reconciles.
What the customer provides
Provide the current item and lot list, known expiry and release information, storage locations, team membership and examples of recent stock requests. Choose a coordinator and an independent reviewer. Bring a representative case with a correction or exception so the team can agree how the historical trail should read.
Changing it afterwards
When a stock item, location or team assignment changes, review how existing requests and movements reference it. Preserve historical decisions and signed movements. For a changed request, obtain a decision on its new revision. For a corrected stock effect, follow the reversal reference and keep the original record available to the Auditor.
