Who it's for

Refurbishment operations

Teams that recover returned equipment need a line from the incoming request to the job and any released quantity. The parent stock request holds the returned item and location. The refurbishment job records return reference, grade, recovered units and status. An operation receipt and posted movement complete the evidence trail for a stock effect.

How SCM with Returns Management is set up for you

Return lineage

Link each job to the request that brought the item into the operation.

Recovery assessment

Record grade and recovered units on the job before asking for a decision.

Reviewed revision

Inventory Reviewer checks the submitted version and decision time before release work proceeds.

Stock effect

Compare completed recovery with the movement under the parent request and its operation receipt.

Teams that recover returned equipment need a line from the incoming request to the job and any released quantity. The parent stock request holds the returned item and location. The refurbishment job records return reference, grade, recovered units and status. An operation receipt and posted movement complete the evidence trail for a stock effect.

Select one item category with a clear base unit and a repeatable grade rule. Run a return into a receiving location, attach the evidence and review the stock request. Create a refurbishment job with its return reference. Record recovered units after inspection, submit the current revision and have Inventory Reviewer decide it. Follow any posted movement and compare its quantity with the job.

A second rehearsal should change recovered units after the first decision. The reviewer needs the new revision before the team treats the job as approved. Also practice a blocked release: open the receipt, inspect any effects and reconcile the case before trying the same action again. This makes duplicate stock release easier to detect.

Agree whether completed refurbished stock enters a released lot or remains held for another decision. The lot's release state and expiry date remain separate from the job status. Keep the return reference consistent across teams so Auditor can reconstruct the path after the item leaves the workbench.
