Order to receipt

A useful handoff begins with a named source record and ends with a result that another team member can inspect. Use the same supplier, organization and source revision throughout a rehearsal so the decision can be followed without guessing which record changed.

Step by step

  1. Send approved order Buyer

Buyer sends the approved revision to the supplier and retains the issue date.

    • Sent order
    • Updates Purchase orders, PO line items
  2. Review order acknowledgement Buyer

Buyer checks the purchase order acknowledgement against the sent revision and follows any changed promise through an amendment.

    • Acknowledged revision and any change
    • Updates Purchase orders, PO amendments
  3. Follow the promise Buyer

Buyer records an expediting case when an open line is at risk and preserves the original need date.

    • Delivery follow-up
    • Updates Expediting, PO line items
