How do I get started?
Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Shop Floor Control for your business. Begin with a familiar product, an approved customer order, its production resource and the material lot that will feed the run. Rehearse the full cycle with Production Planner, Production Operator and Quality Reviewer before expanding the floor scope.
What must be ready before a work order is released?
Production Planner reviews the approved customer order, positive planned quantity, feasible dates and an Available resource. The release action validates those prerequisites before moving the work from Draft to Released.
How are operators assigned to stations?
An assignment links the operator, work order and station with a start and end. Submission checks the actor, references, interval and station scheduling before accepting the assignment. Agree the personnel identity and shift conventions during setup.
How does the team avoid issuing reserved stock?
The issue action checks free stock using the selected item’s on-hand and reserved position. Production Operator identifies the item, lot, quantity and work order, then confirms the exact stock balance through the agreed issue procedure before posting.
Can operators record scrap separately?
Yes. Production intervals contain separate good and scrap quantities alongside the operator, work order and start and end. The planner can compare that result with the production target before accepted output is reconciled.
Who releases a produced batch?
Quality Reviewer decides whether eligible output can be accepted. The release action validates the batch state and unreceived output before receiving finished goods. Rehearse that action under the reviewer’s account during setup.
What happens when a station needs attention?
Production Operator raises an Andon event with a Material, Equipment, Quality or Safety reason. The event records the station, opening time and eventual resolution. Agree how the validated event affects station readiness and how the responsible people are notified.
Can we track supplier delivery progress?
Supplier orders include due dates and status, while their lines record ordered and received quantities. Use those values to follow up outstanding material and compare the physical stock position before promising a production start.
How do we handle inspection results from another system?
Set up a connection or operating handoff from the system that owns the results. Agree how Quality Reviewer finds the correct evidence for a lot and who corrects an identification error before accepted output is released.
What should we test before using it on the floor?
Test blocked releases, conflicting assignments, insufficient free stock and invalid production intervals. Repeat a material posting and a finished-goods release to check stock changes only once. Reconcile a partial job and a fully accepted job with the planner and reviewer.
