Release accepted output

Let Quality Reviewer authorize eligible output, receive finished goods once and complete only the covered work scope.

Step by step

  1. Gather the review context Quality Reviewer

Quality Reviewer opens the Pending batch and checks its lot, work order and production date. Read the production intervals and the agreed inspection evidence. Relevant Andon events may help explain an interruption that affected output.

    • Evidence is assembled for the lot decision
    • Updates Batches, Production logs, Work orders, Andon events
  2. Decide the disposition Quality Reviewer

Quality Reviewer approves eligible accepted output for release. Keep output requiring a Held or Rejected disposition under the agreed quality procedure. A production target or approaching customer date must not replace the acceptance decision.

    • Eligible output is approved for release
    • Updates Batches

  3. Receive accepted goods Quality Reviewer

The release action validates the batch's release state and unreceived accepted output. Successful release changes the accepted batch from Pending to Released and receives finished goods exactly once. Inspect the intended lot balance after the action returns.

    • Accepted output is received once
    • Updates Batches, Inventory balances, Items
  4. Reconcile the remaining scope Production Planner

Production Planner compares the work order with its production and accepted batches. The work order completes when the full scope has been covered. Partial work remains open for the next operating decision rather than closing solely because one batch was released.

    • Full accepted scope allows Completed status
    • Updates Work orders, Batches, Production logs
  5. Confirm the handoff Production Planner

Production Planner reviews the completed job with the people responsible for the next stock or customer step. Customer fulfillment and any external accounting handoff follow their own procedures and should refer to the accepted output that actually exists.

    • Accepted output supports the next operating step
    • Updates Work orders, Inventory balances, Orders

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Inspection evidence cannot be connected to the lot. Resolve the identification before attempting acceptance.
  • A repeat release is treated as another receipt. Confirm that retrying the action cannot receive the same output again and leaves stock unchanged.
  • A partial accepted batch is assumed to cover the full job. Reconcile all relevant output before considering work complete.
