Review and Accept a Meter Interval

Identify the reading, preserve its quality designation and accept only the independently reviewed interval.

Step by step

  1. Prepare the reading Utility Coordinator

Utility Coordinator records the meter identity, interval end, energy value and original quality flag under the correct service case and organization. Check the source time convention and the identity used to recognize a duplicate interval.

    • Establish the intended meter interval and source quality
    • Updates Interval readings, Service cases, Organizations, Service evidence
  2. Submit the revision Utility Coordinator

Move the prepared reading from Draft to Submitted and retain the current revision. Keep source evidence available for the supervisor. An estimated reading remains visibly identified by its source quality designation throughout the handoff.

    • Move Draft to Submitted for review
    • Updates Interval readings
  3. Decide independently Authorized Utility Supervisor

Authorized Utility Supervisor reviews the exact submitted interval and its evidence. Approval permits the reading to proceed; rejection records the review outcome and reason. A returned decision asks for clarification and does not establish acceptance of another reading under the same case.

    • Independently approve, reject or return the identified revision
    • Updates Interval readings, Review decisions, Team members
ApprovalA person approves before the work moves on.
  4. Execute eligible acceptance Utility Coordinator

Utility Coordinator uses the linked acceptance action for the reviewed reading. The action rejects duplicate intervals and persists an operation receipt with its stable identity. Inspect the actual result before treating the interval as Completed.

    • Accept eligible reviewed work while rejecting duplicate intervals
    • Updates Interval readings, Operation receipts
  5. Inspect the retained result Auditor

Auditor follows the decision and receipt to the actual interval. Confirm that the meter, end time and quality designation remain understandable. Preserve estimated-reading distinctions in any accepted-energy review that includes the result.

    • Trace the accepted subject and preserved quality context
    • Updates Interval readings, Review decisions, Operation receipts

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • The same source interval is submitted under inconsistent meter labels or time interpretation. Resolve identity before acceptance.
  • An estimate loses its designation after review. Retain the original quality context in the result.
  • A decision is matched only by parent case. Identify the actual reading and source revision.
  • An uncertain result triggers another acceptance request without inspection. Read the existing receipt and effect before deciding what to do next.
