Content preparation and approval

From a draft post to an approved one, through the brand, legal and executive chain.

Step by step

  1. Prepare content Content Creator

Content Creator drafts the post with copy, media, link, hashtag group and content tags, drawing on reusable assets from the content library.

    • Draft
    • Updates Posts, Content library, Post content tags, Hashtags
  2. Select channel targets Content Creator

Content Creator selects the social accounts the post goes to, with any account-specific copy or media.

    • Targets Pending
    • Updates Post channel targets, Social accounts
  3. Submit post Content Creator

Content Creator changes the post from Draft to Submitted. In the configured review handoff, Brand, Legal and Executive steps are added only if the post has no approval rows; test the Brand notification with the assigned recipient.

    • Draft → Submitted; steps Pending
    • Updates Posts, Approvals
  4. Approve post Approver

Each assigned Approver records an Approved, Rejected or Skipped decision with comments and a decision time. Marketing Manager checks required decisions before accepting the parent post.

    • Pending → Approved, Rejected or Skipped
    • Updates Approvals, Posts
ApprovalA person approves before the work moves on.
  5. Rework a rejection Content Creator

Content Creator uses the recorded rejection comments to revise the post.

    • Rejected → Draft
    • Updates Posts

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • A resubmission creates a duplicate chain. Test that the configured handoff preserves existing approval rows.
  • Account-specific copy is changed after approval and nobody reviews it again.
  • A legal step is skipped without an agreed reason.
