Equipment kitting

A distributor assembling repeatable hardware bundles needs to know which components are committed, what was actually consumed and which output can be promised to a dealer. Work packages link an effective recipe and routing to planned output. The order, warehouse and finance teams can follow that output through delivery and billing without treating a planned kit as finished stock.

How Solar Project Management is set up for you

Define the kit

Warehouse Manager confirms the output product, component list, routing and standard cost before work is released.

Record actual work

Warehouse Operator records material issues, task progress and partial completion against the released work package.

Keep the dealer promise

Sales Representative checks the approved order line and revised promise before offering a completion date.

Close the difference

Warehouse Manager reviews remaining material and cost variance; Accountant traces the completed output into the financial period.

Begin with one active kit, one warehouse and a dealer order for a bounded quantity. Rehearse a component shortage before release. If the missing component arrives later, record its receipt and acceptance before making it available to the work package. Do not use the supplier's promised quantity as though it were accepted stock.

Run a partial completion. Check that the work order still shows remaining planned output and that consumed materials belong to the same released recipe version. A revised recipe should apply to later work, leaving the first work package's basis intact. Have Warehouse Manager review any residual variance before close. Then pick the completed kit for the dealer order, record dispatch and a delivery result. Accountant checks that the invoice follows the eligible shipped scope.
