Shared service teams
A shared service team receives work from several parts of an organization. Each request needs a source identity, a priority, an SLA due date and an accountable handler. Task Queue Management keeps that operational queue separate from the originating system while retaining the source record ID needed to trace the request. The Queue Manager can see status mix and handler load on Queue Operations Overview, then inspect individual tasks and their outcomes.
How Task Queue Management is set up for you
Intake
Identify the source record and arrival date before assigning a queue. Agree how priority and SLA due date are set for different types of work.
Assignment
Apply the effective rule for the organization and record the owner and assignment reason. A pending decision gives a separate reviewer the revision to assess.
Execution
Let the operator work tasks in sequence. Keep receipt identities with numbered steps so a provider timeout can be investigated.
Exceptions
Assign a follow-up action when receipt evidence needs attention. Retain the resolution beside the original queue.

Task Queue Management keeps that operational queue separate from the originating system while retaining the source record ID needed to trace the request. The Queue Manager can see status mix and handler load on Queue Operations Overview, then inspect individual tasks and their outcomes.
Begin with one service stream and a small set of people. Import its organizations, people and active assignment rules, then bring across a representative set of queued requests and tasks. Choose one ordinary task, one urgent case and one ambiguous external result for rehearsal. The team should find each queue by owner and SLA due date, identify the pending reviewer decision and explain the operation result from the step trace. If a result must change, rehearse a successor revision and a compensating task rather than editing the old outcome.
The source service system remains the place that defines the original request. Configure the source connection and external receipt source as part of implementation. Use [the assignment process](/task-queue-management/processes/queue-assignment) to agree the first owner handoff.
