Load planning through delivery

Check driver and vehicle commitments, record actual movement and retain the original delivery promise.

Step by step

  1. Prepare the load Dispatcher

Dispatcher sets the operating organization, responsible team member, transport partner and promised delivery time. Confirm equipment needs and ordered stops. Retain the plan operation result when moving the load from Draft to Planned.

    • Establish the plan and promised delivery
    • Updates Loads, Load stops, Transport partners, Operation receipts
  2. Check the resources Dispatcher

Dispatcher checks the full assignment interval for both driver and vehicle. Fleet Coordinator supplies readiness, defect repair evidence and driver eligibility information. Resolve any overlap or unresolved condition before confirming that the resources can serve this commitment.

    • Resolve eligibility, readiness and interval conflicts
    • Updates Load assignments, Drivers, Vehicles, Vehicle defects
  3. Dispatch and monitor Dispatcher

Dispatcher records actual pickup and the dispatch operation result when the planned load is released. Follow confirmed movement through the load lifecycle and retain stop arrival or departure evidence. Keep the promised delivery time unchanged when delays occur.

    • Record physical pickup and progress evidence
    • Updates Loads, Load stops, Operation receipts
  4. Confirm delivery Dispatcher

Dispatcher compares recipient handoff evidence with the relevant stops, records actual delivery and retains the completion receipt before treating the in-transit load as Delivered. Operations Analyst uses the original promise and actual result to investigate delivery performance.

    • Record the actual delivery and confirmed operation result
    • Updates Loads, Load stops, Record attachments, Operation receipts

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Different start times conceal overlapping assignment intervals.
  • A driver eligibility date is checked against pickup but not the planned end.
  • Completed tire work is mistaken for resolution of every vehicle defect.
  • A revised plan overwrites the original delivery promise.
  • An uncertain dispatch result causes the same physical request to be repeated.
